The article deals with the question of succession of "digital" assets of the modern information society of citizens as a factor of development of business in the field of personal data protection. It is proved that the development of the "Internet" objectively leads to the concentration of the owners of resources and electronic services of colossal amounts of sensitive information, including personal data of the population. This situation puts the problem of not only protection of information of the population material, spiritual and social value, and inheritance rights to it on the agenda. The issue of succession "digital" assets of the citizens of the modern information society is considered in the article in terms of business development, and in this context, the problems in the field of personal data protection.
