The article analyzes the objectives of the International Bank of low-enriched uranium project under the control of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the conditions of the operations of the Bank, the technological requirements of the operator of the project, as well as the analysis of associated challenges and threats of the regional and global scale. The author comes to a conclusion about the possibility of geopolitical risks on a regional scale in relation to the implementation of the project against the background of emerging prospects of strengthening the regime of non-proliferation and the development of the nuclear industry of Kazakhstan.
