The relevance of the presented research is determined by the fact that spatial unevenness in territorial development is a serious problem for many countries worldwide. The Russian Federation is no exception. The reasons for this spatial unevenness in territorial development in our country are both objective and subjective. The objective causes of the problems of spatial unevenness in territorial development in the Russian Federation are due to the country's vast spatial extent (the Russian Federation ranks first in the world in terms of area), the historical distribution of territories with the most intensive development, and significant differences in the favorableness of territorial development across a range of indicators (climate, transport accessibility, availability of natural resources, participation in emerging logistics trajectories, etc.). The subjective causes of the problems of spatial unevenness in territorial development in the Russian Federation are primarily due to agency conflicts (conflicts between economic agents), which impact decisions regarding territorial development management within the country. The purpose of the presented research is to comprehensively analyze the problems of spatial unevenness in the development of the Russian Federation in order to identify benchmarks and potential solutions. The scientific novelty of the obtained results lies in the substantiation of the need to localize the influence of agency conflicts on the problem of spatial uneven development of the territories of the Russian Federation, which can increase the risk of increasing spatial unevenness in the development of the country's territories. The practical significance of the obtained results lies in the possibility of using the formulated recommendations to reduce the level of spatial unevenness in the development of territories.
