Agriculture is one of the most important sectors of the economy of the Russian Federation. A significant share of agriculture, in turn, is represented by crop production. For the effective use of agricultural land, material, labor and other resources, entrepreneurs engaged in crop production should be aware of the factors that may affect the results of their activities. This article is devoted to the study of the influence of factors such as yield and acreage on the change in the gross harvest of crop production through deterministic factor analysis. The relationship between the studied indicators is expressed by a multiplicative model, therefore, the method of chain substitutions was used for factor analysis. Practical significance: the main provisions of the article can be used in the practical activities of agricultural organizations. Scientific novelty: the author presents a classification of factors influencing the change in the gross harvest of crop production, depending on the order of influence.
