The article presents the results of an analysis of the structural, semantic, and functional characteristics of new (20th century – 2026) German-language socionyms that constitute the semantic dichotomy “CENTER – PROVINCE / URBAN – RURAL”; reveals the patterns of lexical and semantic representation of this parameter of modern social differentiation in German society. The active neologization and high nominative density of this lexical group indicate the importance of the selected parameter for the perception of the current social landscape of the country by native speakers. The article concludes that the lexical paradigm has a binary, asymmetric organizational structure, and that the nominations are more determined by behavioral patterns, lifestyle, and values of the collective subject than by economic or infrastructural differences. The article also highlights the dominant representation of urban residents' condemnation, the active use of English-language word-forming components, and the foreign cultural nature of phenomena, trends, and concepts associated with new socionyms. Most of the units are centaur composites, which is due to the importance of word composition in German, the need for social subject differentiation, and the use of foreign language resources. It is shown that the German word-making reaction is stimulated by the ironic attributes of social subjects; new units tend to be used in contexts with a negative tone; the neologization of the studied paradigm reflects the internationalization, intellectualization, intensification, integration as relevant vectors of word formation. The article identifies the motives behind the new nominations of urban and rural residents, the contextual features associated with denotates, and the frequency functions of lexemes.
