This work examines the attitude toward elders and aging as a norm of communicative behavior. Such an attitude is one of the dominant themes in the value system and is variably reflected across different genres of axiogenic texts. The study draws on data from dictionaries of proverbs and aphorisms, as well as texts available on the internet. Key themes in the proverbs of various cultures emphasize the necessity of respecting elders and recognizing the significance of their experiences. In aphorisms, there is mainly a critical view of aging as a period of decline and loss of vitality. Fables are intended to highlight the importance of treating elderly family members with care and the appropriate behavior expected from older individuals. Jokes primarily address the poor health of the older generation. Personal narratives and reflections on aging and attitudes toward aging loved ones bring to the forefront themes of resentment and mistakes in raising children, who were not taught to treat their parents with respect.
