Presented pathogenetic mechanisms of fever, examined the reasons for its occurrence, given the definition and assessment of the role of endogenous and exogenous pyrogens. The necessity to use a range of laboratory and instrumental research, which contributes to clarify the etiology of the disease, minimizing the diagnosis of fever of unknown etiology
