The paper considers one of the most common factors of oscillatory and vibration loads on the undercarriage and freight car as a whole. The vertical load experienced by the undercarriage of a freight car during the passage of rail joints is an integral part of oscillation, which causes a deviation in technical condition, resulting in malfunctions.
