ECONOMIC ASPECTS OF THE INFRASTRUCTURE OF A MODERN MEGALOPOLIS, TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE ENVIRONMENTAL 
SAFETY OF SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANTS

Abstract:
The article presents the results of a study of the current state and environmental safety of wastewater collection and treatment, identifies problems in this area and analyzes the most successful projects, justifies the need for investments in the reconstruction and construction of new treatment facilities 
in large cities due to the high degree of wear of these facilities, high environmental risks and obsolescence of water used in water treatment technology. It is shown that investments in the infrastructure of a modern metropolis, taking into account the environmental safety of sewage treatment plants, have a relatively quick payback and a high economic effect due to automation 
of water purification processes, reduction of energy costs due to the introduction of energy-saving technologies, reduction of waste disposal costs, reduction of environmental penalties due to reduced odor emissions and improved cleaning quality, reduction of operating costs, monetization of waste.
