The article is devoted to the study of the functioning of a word in poetic speech as an urgent problem of modern linguistics. The purpose of the study is to describe the floristic metaphor in the poetic speech of the outstanding poetess of the 20th and 21st centuries, Bella Akhmadulina. The focus is on the poetic word, whose meaning structure is broader than the lexical meaning assigned to it in the language.
