The article explores the philosophical aspects of posthuman existence through the understanding of Alastair Reynolds's science fiction novels "Revelation Space", "Ark of Salvation", "Inhibitor Phase". Their philosophical basis was the ideas of post- and transhumanism. It is analyzed how the processes of change in human nature, human identity, axiological, ethical guidelines and communicative attitudes are explicated and legitimized in modern science fiction. The focus of the research attention is the topic of postmodernist understanding of social communication "I-Other" and xenocommunication "I-Alien", where the boundaries between truth and fiction become shaky, and false information (deception) becomes normative. Through reflection of the nature of key characters, analysis of their activities and communications, the idea is revealed that the concept of a person is radically redefined in the conditions of a posthumanistic future.
