The article examines the established culture of the Pridnestrovian border region, identifies the causes and consequences of influence from neighboring countries, the degree and mechanisms of their influence on the traditional culture of the state. Since Pridnestrovie is territorially and mentally located at the intersection of civilizational differences between East and West, it is constantly influenced by its culture from neighboring states - Moldova and Ukraine (at the micro level), Russia and the countries of Eastern Europe (at the macro level), and the historical narrative determines the development of the region under study as Russian-speaking and Russian-cultural, therefore, the republic is constantly in the focus of attention of its pro-European neighbors. The purpose of the study is to study the influence of border countries on the culture of Transnistria. In order to resolve the stated goal, the author turned to the following methods: analysis and generalization, socio-cultural and historical approach, taking into account the interdisciplinary consideration of the problem field. The results show that under the influence of globalization processes, the cultural and educational environment, the difference in economic potential of neighboring countries, the introduced system of dual citizenship, the culture of Transnistria is constantly experiencing communication influence from neighboring countries, building intercultural influence with the possibility of reorienting part of the population to pro-Western values. At the same time, the republic, feeling transformational and assimilation evolutionary shifts, has the opportunity, on the one hand, to return to its roots, by restoring some rural rites and rituals; on the other hand, folk culture appears in a stylized form, like folklorism, often changing its ethnic coloring. Determining the degree and scale of external influence on the cultural processes of the Pridnestrovian Republic, caused by cross-border communications from neighboring states, allows us to pay attention to the ongoing processes in order to dampen the negative impacts.
