The article analyzes the need for students to learn how to work with neural networks based on a comparative analysis of the Russian and American labor markets. For a detailed consideration of the problem, a sociological survey was conducted among 148 students of the Omsk branch of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation in various fields of study. Training in neural networks for further use in professional activities was considered necessary by 92.5% of respondents. Thus, it was revealed that the modern labor market assumes the availability of personnel with skills to work with artificial intelligence, however, at the moment, the educational programs of universities for the most part cannot provide them.
