The study raises the issue of public legal regulation of the production system and processes in transport. The author discusses in detail key aspects of government control and management in the transport industry, including transportation management, safety, environmental protection and consumer protection. The article pays special attention to the importance of the balance between state intervention and market freedom, as well as the role of international standards and digital technologies in modern transport processes. Legal instruments used to achieve the goals of sustainable development of the transport system are analyzed, and ways to improve the existing regulatory practice are proposed.
