DEVELOPMENT OF SHIP MANEUVERING METHODS UNDER MINIMAL PROPELLER THRUST IN REVERSE GEAR DURING BERTHING
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
This article addresses the challenge of ship maneuvering under conditions of minimal propel-ler thrust in reverse gear during berthing in confined waters. The study evaluates the impact of low thrust on the ship's maneuverability and berthing efficiency and explores methods aimed at enhancing the precision of maneuvers in complex environments. Proposed within the work are optimization techniques for the berthing process, including the utilization of auxiliary maneuvering systems such as thrusters, as well as adjustments to the ship's speed and heading considering external factors like wind and current. Recommendations for ship operators and crews emphasize a comprehensive approach that incorporates precise calcula-tions, the use of auxiliary equipment, and personnel training to improve the safety and effec-tiveness of maneuvers. The developed methods and approaches can significantly reduce the risks of damage to the ship and port infrastructure when performing maneuvers under condi-tions of minimal propeller thrust.
