The article examines the attitude of 2nd and 6 th courses students of the medical university to laboratory research involving animals, including those who have been associated with these research methods and are able to assess such experiments not only for the benefit of humanity, but also for the humanity of the conduct. The results of a sociological study conducted in order to clarify the attitude of respondents to the main ethical aspects of conducting experiments on animals, as well as the need for such studies, were analyzed. A general view of medical students about the use of animals in science and in training, as well as trends towards humanization of medical education in general, was also determined. The article analyzes various alternative methods for solving this problem and the possibility of their application in modern medical education.
