The relevance of the presented research is determined by the fact that in modern geopolitical and economic conditions, the urgency of increasing the country’s export potential, including the development of principles for managing the state’s export potential, is increasing. The purpose of the presented research is to determine the composition and content of the principles for managing the development of the state’s export potential, corresponding to modern trends in the country’s foreign economic activity. The studies made it possible to identify a set of principles for managing the development of the state's export potential and demonstrate that in the development of the state's export potential, the greatest problems in the domestic economy arise in terms of the implementation of the principle of diversifying the composition of exported products. First of all, in terms of product diversification, which requires abandoning the exportoriented commodity model of economic development in the country. It has been demonstrated that the implementation of the principle of product diversification is interrelated with other principles of developing the state's export potential is also complicated by the implementation of the parallel import rate, which makes it difficult to solve the problem of ensuring the country's technological sovereignty, the achievement of which would, in turn, form the basis for building the state's export potential, including in the energy sector.
