The article is devoted to the analysis of pedagogical journals of the Russian Diaspora 1920-1940 as a source on the history of the pedagogy of emigration of the "first wave". The author's focus is on the legacy of domestic teachers of the 20th century, publishing their works on the pages of the magazines "Russian School Abroad", "Russian School", "Bulletin (Bulletin) of the Pedagogical Bureau for Secondary and Lower Russian Schools Abroad". Considerable attention is paid to the issues of national self-preservation of children and youth in emigration.
