The article analyzes some values and behavior orientations of the representatives of the middle class and other layers of the Russian population, also the results of the authors’ researches are car-ried out by the method of the focused interview of the representatives’ values of the middle class of the Orel region. The conclusion is made about the representatives and the regional middle class having active life position, aspiration to keep the position in the society, lack of dependent and pater-nalistic orientations, sense of purpose.
