The relevance of the presented work is determined by the fact that in the conditions of overcoming periodically occurring economic crises of various natures, it is important to analyze the historical experience of overcoming large-scale economic crises, a striking example of which is the experience of overcoming the crisis of the Great Depression in the United States of 1929-1933. The purpose of the presented study is to analyze the second anti-crisis program of Herbert Hoover, created in the interests of overcoming the crisis of the Great Depression, starting from the reason for the creation of the program and the course of its implementation, and ending with assessments of the results of the implementation of the anti-crisis program, considered as a lesson for modern times. The scientific novelty of the obtained results lies in the analytical substantiation of the fact that it was the Second Program of G. Hoover that formed the basis of the basic postulate of the economic theory of J. Keynes on the need for government intervention in the economy during a crisis. The practical significance of the presented consideration of the Second Program of anti-crisis management of G. Hoover to overcome the crisis of the Great Depression lies in the fact that the obtained results can be used to solve the economic problems of our time.
