The article analyzes and evaluates the foreign experience of using the economic mechanism of forest fi insurance. One of the economic mechanisms, through the implementation of which it is possible to reduce the burnability of forests is the economic mechanism of forest fire insurance. While conducting the research the author used the following methods: statistical observation of the main indicators of forest burning, summary and grouping of statistical observation materials, as well as correlation analysis of the obtained data. The main subjects of insurance relations were identified, the economic mechanism of formation of the insurance premium rate and the amount of the sum insured of forest fire insurance was analyzed in accordance with the species composition, stand age and geographical location of forest areas.
