Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
The article explores the intricate relationship between the philosophy of media and the field of communication sciences within the broader context of integrated epistemological media studies. The investigation into this subject is twofold. Firstly, the authors emphasize the hierarchical role that media philosophy plays in relation to communication sciences, highlighting the importance of theoretical, methodological, and sociocultural aspects that contribute to enriching and expanding the foundations of communication studies. Secondly, it is important to note that media philosophy and communication sciences do not directly interact. Moreover, there are ontological, cognitive, and linguistic differences that characterize these epistemological domains. These contradictions, paradoxically, can be fruitful for potential coordination at the initial stages of combining and developing epistemological objects. The authors propose the concept of methodological "soft power," which involves procedurally assembling ideas, concepts, and cognitive tools to explore the constantly evolving nature of media and communicative phenomena. Under these complex cognitive conditions, interactive and instrumentally oriented modes of regulating the coordination between media philosophy and communication sciences may not be appropriate. As an alternative approach, the article advocates for a medium-based framework for the interaction between media philosophy and communication studies, emphasizing the importance of a more flexible and adaptable approach in navigating the complexities of these interdisciplinary fields.
